Upgraded to Windows 10. Download failed 3 times, but finally worked on try 4. Seems to boot faster and is more responsive but did not test much.

Out of service, replaced with tiger, Lenovo H50-55. Slow to boot and sluggish in general. Slower than packrat for no apparent reason.

• Swapped memory, added 4GB G.Skill memory from packrat (clocked faster in memtest)
• Would not boot, said no hard drive
  • jiggled and reseated cables, booted OK
• Windows claims it is not activated, rejects my windows key
  • typo, had wrong key, fixed and activated

• ran memtest 5.0 from USB, no change in memory speed. Why is packrat slightly faster?

Downloaded and installed bunches of software that was installed on Cougar. Had trouble finding latest Lightscribe software without bugs. Finally found www.pawtec.com with original HP versions 18.27.10.

Installed Active State Python 2.7.8 64-bit.
