Adding surveys to the Digital``Rock``Art application is an administrative function limited to those persons with an administrative ID. Adding a new survey requires the following information:
  * Site Owner
  * Site Name
  * Site Number
  * Latitude and Longitude rounded to nearest degree
  * Survey date or start date
  * Recording team members (names and email addresses)
  * Recording team member to be given update authority

If the rock art site is on private land, the administrator will require a copy of a written agreement between the private land owner and the recording team leader. A sample form can be found at the bottom of this page.

If the rock art site is on public land, there is a requirement for a Volunteer Service Agreement [[FootNote(Or equivalent form used by the land manager)]] between the administrators of the Digital``Rock``Art web site and the land manager to provide computer services and support on a volunteer basis. If the rock art recording is to be performed by volunteers, most land managers will require that each individual on the recording team complete a Volunteer Service Agreements.

Transmittal Form

Adding images to the DRA application is an administrative function limited to those persons with an administrative ID. After receiving the images the administrator will review the images to insure they meet site standards (no chalking, aluminum dust, etc.) and obtain the concurrence of the land owner/manager to add the site.

Information that should accompany the mailed CD-ROM or uploaded file (send an email to digitalrockart@yahoo.com):

  • Date - current date.
  • Surveyor Name - names of persons performing the survey (access to this information is limited to web site administrative personnel).
  • Surveyor Contact - name and email or phone or mailing address (access to this information is limited to web site administrative personnel).
  • Login ID - DRA login ID of the person who will be completing the survey.
  • Survey Date - date when the majority of photos or drawings were made.
  • Site Name - any name agreed to by the land owner/manager.
  • Section (optional) - as agreed to by the land owner/manager, this is used to divide a large site into manageable pieces.
  • Site Number - any number the land owner/manager chooses to use.
  • Latitude and Longitude Rounded to 2 Degrees - 34.11111 N and 113.11111 W must be rounded to 34 N 114 W.
  • Land Owner/Manager - use "Private" if individually owned.
  • Land Owner/Manager Contact - name and email or phone or mailing address (access to this information is limited to site administrative personnel).
