Digital Rock Art
The DigitalRockArt application can be described as a web-based photo album integrated with an SQL relational database. The relational database is used to create standardized reports and to facilitate research across multiple rock art sites.
The goal of the application is to explore ways to facilitate recording large numbers of rock art sites with the use of volunteer recorders. To date, the application has been used to record over 100 Arizona rock art sites. The database is comprised of approximately 8,000 digital images, 6,000 rock art panels, and 18,000 rock art elements.
