Image Captions

Objective

An image and the captions beneath the image provide several hyperlinks. These hyperlinks enable the user to view the recorded data for the panel and cluster.

Entry Points

There are numerous reporting and recording functions that display images. The reporting and research functions use a uniform format. Some recording functions use a slightly altered caption format.

Processing

The image caption contains several pieces of information:

• Metric Scale: for rock art images, the scale indicates the approximate sizing of the rock art panel if recorded in the CategorizeImages function.

• Image Category: the image category as recorded in the CategorizeImages function.

• Image ID: a unique integer number assigned to this image. Clicking the image ID hyperlink will open the UpdateNotebookEntry sub-function in a popup window.

• RGB: for rock art images, the Red, Green and Blue grayscale display. Clicking on this hyperlink will open a ColorLayers popup window.

• Cluster number: for rock art images, the cluster number of the panel as recorded in the CategorizeImages function. Clicking on this hyperlink will open a ClusterInformation popup window.

• Panel letter: for rock art images, the panel letter of the panel as recorded in the CategorizeImages function. Clicking on this hyperlink will open a PanelInformation popup window.

• Comments: comments as recorded in the CategorizeImages function for the image.

The image is a hyperlink. Clicking on the image will open a ShowJumboImages popup window that displays the image in jumbo size.
